Ticto Barb

Introduction 


The pale brown-silver body of this fish is covered by dark edged scales.It is marked by two small black patches on the caudal peduncle and behind the gill cover.The dorsal fin  is red and black and is brighter on the male.

They are omnivorous .Feed the fry newly hatched brine shrimp until large enough to accept crushed flake food.

Remark 

The classification of this subspecies, along with barbus ticto, has caused confusion.This fish may be ancestral stock that produced the Odessa Barb.It is easily bred.
