Introduction
The body color of this barb is golden yellow, progressing downward to silver ventrally , with a tint brown on the upper surface.Black diamond marks appear on the shoulder and caudal peduncle.Specimens caught from different locations may have varying dorsal and pelvic fin colors: yellow-orange may replace yellow-red.As with most barbs, males are slimmer than females and have more vivid colors.There are no barbels.
