Introduction
The body of the maturing filament barb is contoured equally.Juveniles are slimmer and more elongate, and three broad vertical bars run along their golden brown flanks. In adults , these dark bars largely disappear, leaving only a dark blotch on the flanks above the anal fin.The body deepens and becomes a silvery green-yellow.Filaments also extend from the first few rays of the dorsal fin on prime adult males, hence the common name. There is no barbels present.
